Disclosed is a diimmonium salt compound characterized by having a structure represented by the following formula (1). In the formula (1), X<SUP>-</SUP> and Y<SUP>-</SUP> respectively represent an anion required for neutralizing the electrical charge, and X<SUP>-</SUP> and Y<SUP>-</SUP> are different from each other; at least one of ring A and ring B may have a substituent; and R<SUP>1</SUP>-R<SUP>8</SUP> may be the same as or different from one another, and at least one of R<SUP>1</SUP>-R<SUP>8</SUP> represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, an alkynyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group or an alkylene group having a cyclic alkyl group.
