A micro general analysis system comprising an inspection chip provided with a microchannel and a channel opening communicating with a micropump on the upstream side of a reagent containing section, a driving liquid tank containing driving liquid, a micropump unit provided with a plurality of micropumps at respective positions in the plane direction of a sheet of chip such that the upstream side of each micropump communicates with the driving liquid tank and a channel opening communicating with the microchannel of the inspection chip is provided on the downstream side, and a system body containing the micropump unit and the driving liquid tank in one containing body, wherein analysis is performed while the inspection chip is attached to the system body, and a mechanism for altering the direction of pressure at the channel opening of the micropump unit depending on attachment/detachment of the inspection chip to/from the system body is provided.
