A transaction server is disclosed that has a receiver module configured to receive an instruction message from a first mobile communications device for a transaction from a first account to a second account. The transaction server also has a transmission modul configured to send a response message to the first mobile communications device a request for a validation instruction for the transaction, the response message being in response to the receipt of the instruction message. The server is configured to record receipt of the validation instruction. The server is also configured to record receipt of the validation instruction. In response to the validation instruction, the server validates and effects the transaction. A corresponding method is also disclosed.
