An apparatus for preventing disasters on a road is provided to inform a driver of a disaster area by obtaining weather information in the disaster area using a weather monitoring device implemented in the disaster area. An apparatus for preventing disasters on a road includes a sensor unit(110), a data collector(130), a power supply(120), a data collecting server(140), a display unit(150), and a management system(160). The sensor unit is implemented in a disaster area to collect weather information and road state information. The data collector collects and outputs the road state information from the sensor unit. The data collecting server applies weather information to the road state information and determines a danger level in the disaster area. The display unit displays the road state information from the data collector. The management system performs actions required to prevent disastrous situations in the disaster area.
