An RBT(RingBack Tone) service method for a foreign roaming subscriber and a system thereof are provided to service an RBT from a sending MSC(Mobile Switching Center) by inquiring about HLR(Home Location Register) information of a receiver, thereby providing an RBT set by the receiver to a caller even in case of foreign roaming. A sending MSC(103) inquires of an HLR(104) about a receiving subscriber's location to receive a response, and attempts connection to an address of a particular CGS(Cellular Gateway Switch)(106) to receive a sound source. The HLR(104) decides whether a receiver is roaming, and if so, the HLR(104) sends RBT information and address information of the CGS(106) connected to a foreign mobile communication system to the sending MSC(103) instead of a substantial address of a foreign MSC, and demands a call attempt by sending receiving MSC information and a receiving number to the CGS(106). If a call setup message arrives from a receiving MSC(108), the CGS(106) completes connection of an RBT connected with the sending MSC(103), and connects a receiving MSC line with a sending MSC line. A CRBT(Color RBT) device(107) transmits a connection confirm message to the CGS(106). The receiving MSC(108) transmits the call setup message to the CGS(106). |
