The invention relates to a car bonnet hinge (4) for a car bonnet (3) which is movable into a protective position and which pivots about a car bonnet pivot (13) into an open position, wherein the car bonnet pivot (13) is mounted on a support structure of a motor vehicle by means of a lever mechanism and, on moving from the operating position into the protective position takes the car bonnet pivot therewith.
