For the implementation of a process for producing micro- and/or nanoparticles of a chemical compound an apparatus has a container 3 with a stirrer 4. Water and a first reactant are supplied to the container, are mixed together to form a reaction liquid, which is conveyed via a line 13 by a pump 15 into the liquid zone 16a of a membrane unit 16. A membrane 17 divides the membrane unit 16 into the liquid zone 16a and a gas zone 16b. Introduced into the gas zone 16b is a gaseous second reactant, which diffuses through the membrane to the membrane surface, where it on the one hand reacts with the first reactant of the reaction liquid and on the other hand is introduced into the reaction liquid which is flowing past it, and in which the two reactants react, and particles of the chemical compound are precipitated.
