A power control method in a terminal supporting a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) function is provided to minimize the power consumption and extend the playback time of a desired broadcast by executing necessary functions only, without executing all the procedures for broadcast regeneration, in case an undesired scene or advertisement is outputted while a broadcast program is being regenerated in real time in a DMB terminal. In case the user of a DMB terminal inputs a power control request command through a key input part while the DMB terminal is regenerating a broadcast program(S21), a control part confirms whether a power control mode is activated(S22). If a power control mode is activated according to the user's key input, the control part confirms whether the activated power control mode is a maximum low-power control mode or a partial power control mode(S23). In case the activated power control mode is the maximum low-power control mode, the control part interrupts the regeneration of the broadcast program(S24). However, if the activated power control mode is the partial power control mode, the control part interrupts some of the functions required to regenerate the broadcast program(S29). The control part continuously receives broadcast signals in order to adjust broadcasting synchronization when the partial power control mode is released, and stores the synchronization information of the received broadcast signals in a memory part(S30).
