The mower (M) has cutting blades (8, 9) driven in rotation by vertical shafts (10, 11) inside a mower deck (7). Cutting chambers (24, 25) are formed inside the deck and provided for respective cutting blades, where the blades are placed in a lateral direction. The blades of adjacent pair are driven in rotation in opposite directions with respect to each other. An opening (26) is formed between the chambers for the adjacent cutting blades, for permitting a flow passage of cut grass into/outside the respective chambers.
