An optical device comprises a stage (41) mounting the optical element (40) and having a holder (141) where a plurality of holes are arranged in the mounting surface for the optical element (40), a plurality of magnetic field generating portions (61) buried in the holes of the holder (141), and a control mechanism (150) for controlling the magnetic fields respectively generated from the magnetic field generating portions (61), thereby controlling the film thickness of the magnetostrictive film (11) of the optical element (40).
