<p>A material testing machine having a pair of columnar members (12) placed on both sides of a sample (SP); a cross head (15) provided bridging across the pair of columnar members (12) and moving in the longitudinal direction of the columnar members (12) to apply a load on the sample (SP); a movable member (31) placed at a side of a columnar member (12) so as to extend in the longitudinal direction and elastically supported so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction; a striker (35) installed integrally with the movable member (31) so that the striker can change its position in the longitudinal direction and pushed by movement of the cross head (15) to the position where the striker is installed; a position sensor (38) for detecting movement of the movable member caused by being pushed by the striker; a limitation member (34) for limiting the installation position of the striker (35); and an elastic member (36) for supporting the striker (35) so that it can move in the longitudinal direction relative to the movable member (31) by a predetermined distance from the position limited by the limitation member (34).</p> |
