<p>A mobile station and a connection control method therein are provided to efficiently manage radio resources and prevent an unnecessary charge from being added in using a packet data service by releasing a connection for the packet data service in case the idle state of the packet data service lasts during more than a preset time. An MS(Mobile Station) makes a request to connect a packet data service(S200). If a packet data service connection accept message is received(S205), the MS transmits and receives packet data through a connected network(S210). At this moment, if data transmission is completed, the MS drives a timer and counts time until next data transmission is made(S215). In case the counted time exceeds a preset time, the MS judges that the packet data service is in an idle state(S220). The MS counts the duration of the idle state, and compares the duration of the idle state with a preset time(S225). In case the idle state of the packet data service lasts during more than the preset time, the MS creates a connection release request message and transmits it to the network(S230). As the connection of the packet data service is released according to a response from the network, the MS transits to an inactive state for the packet data service(S235).</p> |
