<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head which enlarges a carry of a ball without impairing durability. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a golf club head includes: a step of making a head body having a sole base, a side base, an opening in the side of a face, an opening in the side of a crown and a bridge section extending between the openings by casting; a step of making a face member which integrally has a face base and a return section in the side of the crown and is welded and bonded with the opening in the side of the face by casting or pressing; and a step of making the crown member welded/joined to the opening in the side of the crown by welding or pressing. Thickness of the return section in the side of the crown is 1.5 to 4.0 times of thickness of the crown member and the bridge section is formed with thickness reducing from a front end to a rear end. Both the difference between the thickness of the front end of the bridge section and the thickness of the rear end of the return section in the side of the crown, ¾t2f-t1¾, and the difference between the thickness of the rear end of the bridge section and the thickness of the front end of the crown member, ¾t2b-t3¾, are 0.2 mm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
