<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of simultaneously lowering phase noise and lowering power consumption in a configuration for generating local oscillation signals used in an ultrawideband. <P>SOLUTION: The frequency synthesizer comprises a reference signal generator 1 for outputting the signals of a single frequency, a frequency multiplier 2 for generating at least one intermediate signal of a different frequency on the basis of the frequency of input signals and outputting them as output signals, a frequency selector 3, a mixer 4 and a frequency synthesizer control circuit 5 provided with a frequency synthesizer control terminal. The output of the reference signal generator 1 is turned to the input of the frequency multiplier 2, at least one output of the frequency multiplier 2 is turned to at least one input of the frequency selector 3, one of the output of the frequency selector 3 and the output of the frequency multiplier 2 is turned to the first and second input of the mixer 4, and the output of the mixer 4 is turned to the output of the frequency synthesizer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
