PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance determination precision only by collecting data during normality to enable use, and using data during abnormality generated after use. SOLUTION: An abnormality determination method comprises: converting sound generated by a monitoring object into electric signals by a microphone 2a; extracting a characteristic amount of the electric signals in a characteristic amount extraction part 3; classifying the characteristic amount by a competition learning type neural network 1; performing learning of the competition learning type neural network 1 by using the characteristic amount in learning data when the monitoring object is normal in an initial stage; then, preserving the electric signals to an original data storage part 5 when the monitoring object is except for normality in a determination mode; generating the learning data giving category in response to a state of the monitoring object to the characteristic amount of each electric signal when the suitable number of the electric signals is preserved to an original data storage part 5; and performing additional learning of the competition learning neural network 1 by the learning data.
