PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nail for use with repairing a bone fracture. SOLUTION: This nail 10 has a cutting tip 24 formed at least one facet 48 defining a cutting edge. The facet is skewed with respect to a primary longitudinal axis 20 extending through the nail from the proximal end to the distal end. The nail further has at least one groove 66 extending longitudinally on the nail from the distal end to the proximal end, the groove having a cutting edge 70 used to increase or enlarge the entry opening as the diameter of the nail increases form the distal end to the proximal end.
