PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end cap for an endoscope inexpensively enhancing the insertion capacity of an insertion part into a fine and narrow lumen. SOLUTION: The distal end cap 12 for the endoscope is inserted into a target in the state mounted on the distal end part of the endoscope having the insertion part where an observation means, which has an observation optical system and an illumination optical system, and the treatment appliance insertion channel provided in parallel to the observation means are arranged and equipped with a cap part 172 the leading end surface 172a of which is formed into a tapered form with respect to the circular base end part 172b of the cap part 172, the protrusion part 174 provided to the circular base end part 172b of the cap part 172 and inserted into and taken out of the channel and the locking part 176 provided to the protrusion part 174 and locked with the inner peripheral surface of the channel in a slidable manner.
