METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING PATHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN MACULAR REGION

FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves applying examination with ophthalmoscope and receiving digital eye fundus image by means of fundus camera. Color image is transformed into achromatic mode using raster graphic software. Then, optical pixel density in macular region is determined using grey scale containing 256 values from achromatic colors brightness distribution. Maximum value being equal to or greater than 73 relative units, available pathological changes in macular region are diagnosed. ^ EFFECT: high accuracy in evaluating macular region state in healthy people and pathological changes degree at early stage.
