<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel member for a semiconductor light emitting device being excellent in transparency, light resistance, heat resistance, reflow resistance and temperature resistant cycle properties and capable of sealing a semiconductor light emitting device and of retaining a fluorescent substance without causing a cracking or a peeling even when the member is used for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: This member has at least one peak selected from a peak having a peak top positioned in a region of the chemical shift of from -40 ppm to 0 ppm and having a half value width of from 0.3 ppm to 3.0 ppm and a peak having a peak top positioned in a region of the chemical shift of from -80 ppm to less than -40 ppm and having a half value width of from 0.3 ppm to 5.0 ppm, wherein these two peaks: are in a solid Si-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum; has a content of silicon of 20 wt.% or more and a content of silanol of 0.1 wt.% to 10 wt.%; and has a hardness measured by a durometer of type A (shore A hardness) of 5 to 90. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
