BAND SPREADING SYSTEM OF MUSICAL SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band spreading system for restoring a musical signal, where the quality has deteriorated in the high-frequency region, to a signal that is close to an original signal. SOLUTION: A music category or genre, to which an acoustic feature is similar to the musical signal with the quality deteriorated, is specified, and a parameter required for band spreading is calculated, by using information of another musical signal classified into the music category or genre, and a signal which is close to the original signal is restored. A music category specifying section 3 specifies music category, from a feature vector xiof a musical signal A which is calculated in an acoustic analysis section 2. A parameter generating section 4 receives a transformation function, corresponding to the specified music category from a data base section 5, and a band spread parameter yi, which is to be added to the feature vector Xi, is calculated by using the feature vector xi. A high-region spectrum generating section 6 creates a high-region spectrum from the band spread parameter yiand interpolates it in a missing high-frequency region. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
