Claimed is a fire-retardant material for use in building construction incorporating a binding agent of sodium silicate and/or potassium silicate, olive sawdust and talcum and/or china clay. The material is prepared as a paste or semi-liquid substance whose hardening process is triggered by the addition of acid in the form of salt.
