PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expanding active phased array antenna which folds only an antenna radiation plate requiring an opening area in use while it is housed, expands only the plate while it is used, is miniaturized, and compatible with a huge electric power consumption. SOLUTION: The antenna includes the antenna radiation plate 1 to mount a plurality of antenna radiation elements which are folded while they are housed and are expanded while they are used, an active element 2 to excite the antenna radiation elements which are mounted individually when the antenna radiation plate 1 is expanded, a cooling mechanism 3 to cool the active element 2, and a distributor 4 to distribute an electric signal to the active element 2. The active element 2, the cooling mechanism 3, and the distributor 4 are mounted on the antenna radiation elements of the expanded antenna radiation plate 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
