PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having excellent coating film smoothness, low surface resistance value, electromagnetic transducing characteristics, error characteristics, running durability and storage stability. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium has a radiation cured layer (H) formed by curing a layer containing a conductive polymer (E) and a radiation curing monomer (C) by irradiation with a radiation on a non-magnetic supporting body. The magnetic recording medium preferably has the radiation cured layer (H) and a magnetic layer formed by dispersing ferromagnetic powder in a binder in this order on the non-magnetic support. The magnetic recording medium further preferably has the radiation cured layer (H), a non-magnetic layer formed by dispersing non-magnetic powder in a binder and the magnetic layer formed by dispersing the ferromagnetic powder in a binder in this order on the non-magnetic support.
