<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extractant which effectively extracts/separates a rare earth metal while minimizing a load on the environment, is extremely hardly soluble in water, can be completely incinerated, has superior extracting capability and selective separability both equivalent to an existing phosphorus-based compound (PC88A or D2EHPA), and is synthesized at a low cost, and to provide an extracting method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The extractant to be used for extracting/separating the rare earth metal is a CHON type extractant having a skeleton of a diglycolamic acid expressed by a specified formula (extractant which is composed of only carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen, and can be completely incinerated), and is extremely hardly soluble in water (for instance, dioctyldiglycolamic acid (DODGAA)). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
