<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for discriminating an image due to the combination of a watermark image formed according to the thickness and thinness of the paper layer in paper and the false watermark image formed by printing by a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR) imaging method. <P>SOLUTION: An IR spectrum is acquired in a two-dimensional region in the transmission imaging mode of the FTIR, and the watermark image, which is formed by performing chemical imaging in the peak wave number originating from the functional group possessed by paper in a wave number region of 2,500-1,500 cm<SP>-1</SP>, and the false watermark image, which is formed by performing chemical imaging in the peak wave number originating from the functional group possessed by a resin in the wave number region of 2,500-1,500 cm<SP>-1</SP>, are acquired to be discriminated from the acquired IR spectrum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
