PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weighing instrument for making its weighing bowl visible without being blocked while having satisfactory accessibility at all times in any situation. SOLUTION: This weighing instrument 1 includes a weighing section 4 adjoining fixed parts 8 and 9 of the weighing instrument. The weighing section 4 is enclosed with at least one of side wall panels 5 and 6, a front wall panel 7, and an upper cover panel 12. Of the side wall panels and the cover panel, at least one is slidably moved by guide devices 17 and 120 in order to open/close the weighing section 4. Holder elements 15, 17c, 58, and 125 for holding at least one of the slidable panels 5, 6, and 12, are formed integrally with the guide devices 17 and 120 while a holder element for holding a fixed wall panel is formed integrally with the fixed part 8.
