PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with filling of a filler into a clearance between a metal cover and an insulating support member, and to hold the insulating support member in the metal cover, while maintaining earthquake resistance. SOLUTION: This temperature sensor 1 includes a temperature sensing part 10 comprising the metal cover 107 having a bottomed cylindrical shape whose tip is blocked and whose rear end is opened, a temperature detection element 101 to which a pair of electrode wires 102 is connected, and the insulating support member 103; a protection tube part 12 comprising a cylindrical metal protection tube 123, a pair of signal wires 121 for taking out a signal to the outside, and an insulating member 122; and a housing part 13 having a screw part 132. Each diameter changing part whose blocked end side has a small diameter and whose open end side has a large diameter is provided respectively on the metal cover 107 and the insulating support member 103 of the temperature sensor 1, and a metal cover 107 diameter changing part tapered surface 109 is allowed to adhere close to an insulating support member 103 diameter changing part tapered surface 108.
