PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and precisely determining the amount of lubricating fluid filled in a hydrodynamic bearing device. SOLUTION: The lubricating fluid filled in the hydrodynamic bearing device is drifted to either an upper side seal portion or an lower side seal portion. At the seal portion where the curvature of an air-liquid interface as a boundary between the lubricating fluid and outside air is smaller, the position of the air-liquid interface is measured to determine the amount of the lubricating fluid supplied to a bearing gap in the hydrodynamic bearing device.
