PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump water-shortage protection device for an automatic water supply device capable of preventing excess temperature rise of a pump part and an electric motor at a time of continuous water-shortage state. SOLUTION: This pump water-shortage protection device detects motor temperature of the electric motor 2ba during pump operation in a water-shortage state. Interval time is extended when motor temperature in the water-shortage state is not lower than a predetermined temperature, to prevent excessive temperature rise of the pump part 2a and the electric motor 2b until the water-shortage state is eliminated.
