PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact accumulation conveyor device enabling first-in/first-out control of a container. SOLUTION: A wide accumulation conveyor C provided with a pair of side guides 4 is connected with an inlet conveyor 1 for conveying a container A, and an outlet conveyor 3 is connected with its carrying-out end part. The accumulation conveyor C is divided into a plurality of divided conveyors in the direction of container conveyance, and an inlet sensor and an outlet sensor for detecting stay of containers are provided on each divided conveyor. If a handling device causes failure, the containers A stay on the outlet conveyor 3, the following container A is made to abut on the container A stopping on a supply end part of the outlet conveyor 3 to stop the containers A sequentially, and the containers A are stored in order by starting from the container A in the carrying-out end part of the divided conveyor on the most downstream side. When the outlet sensor detects the stored container A, operation of the divided conveyor is switched to low speed operation. When the inlet sensor detects the stored container A, the divided conveyor is stopped, and the containers A are stored in order by starting from the container A on the divided conveyor on the most downstream side.
