PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bird damage preventing device, having a high repelling effect of harmful birds and expected to maintain it for a long period, without using a large scale device, easily installed at a high place such as a construction or steel tower, etc., and easy for maintenance after its installation, and also easy maintenance and control when dealing with strong winds, etc. SOLUTION: This bird damage preventing device is equipped with: an intimidating body 10 having repelling effect for the harmful birds; an intimidating body-supporting part 20 incorporated with a long length elastic member 21 for supporting the intimidating body and a cylindrical member 22 for capable of being inserted with the member 21 and supporting it by making an intermediate part as a fulcrum and also slidable; and also a member capable of optionally regulating the position translocation and position-holding in the up and down direction of the long length elastic member 21; wherein an intimidating effect is exhibited by expressing the swinging state of the intimidating body 10 with a force caused by receiving wind on being elevated, and on receiving strong wind, and the long length elastic member 21 is lowered so as to be able to stop swinging. In addition, the device is equipped with a means for emitting light from the eyes 11 of the intimidating body, an outputting means 70 of intimidating sound, etc., and a means 80 for lighting up the intimidating body to heighten the intimidating effect further.
