<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive control method for a stepping motor capable of attaining low vibration, cost reduction and low current consumption without adding radiating materials such as a cooling fan and a radiating fin leading to a cost increase, by inhibiting vibration in increasing a current value from standby current value to a rotational operation current value when the stepping motor of an electrophotography device is driven, by shortening the settling time of the vibration, by preventing the step-out of the stepping motor, and by reducing current consumption upon stopping of the stepping motor and heat generation of a motor driver circuit. <P>SOLUTION: While the stepping motor 4 is stopping, the standby current value is set so as to be low. In driving the stepping motor 4, a motor current 6 is raised step by step or gradually in raising a standby current to a rotational operation current ahead of the input timing of an initial driving pulse. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
