PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electromagnetic wave shielding light transmitting window material, which can form a dot pattern excellent in dimensional accuracy with ease. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electromagnetic wave shielding light transmitting window material comprises: a step for forming a dot pattern containing a soluble material in a solvent on a low surface tension resin layer 102 of a transparent substrate 101, where the low surface tension resin layer 102 has the tension force of 30 to 43 mN/m and is placed on the transparent substrate 101; a step for forming a conductive material layer containing a conductive material non-soluble in the solvent on the low surface tension resin layer 102 having the pattern; and a step for forming a mesh conductive layer 106 by removing the pattern and the conductive material layer on the pattern with the solvent.
