PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel cholesterol binder and a novel cholesterol sensing kit. SOLUTION: The cholesterol binder which is made of DAMP (N-(3-((2,4-dinitrophenyl)amino)propyl)-N-(3-aminopropyl)-methylamine), is used, and the cholesterol binding property of the DAMP is utilized, i.e., the DAMP binds to the cholesterol specifically, thereby sensing the cholesterol in a cell and a tissue. In a method for sensing the cholesterol, the DAMP is added to a sample to form a complex of the DAMP and the cholesterol included in the sample, and the cholesterol is sensed through the DAMP in the complex.
