PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross head bearing improved in load capacity while maintaining a high oil film performance. SOLUTION: A reduction of a land section (pressure-receiving surface) is restrained since a shaft is supported by the internal surface of the bearing as upper sides 19a of narrow grooves by forming many narrow grooves 19, in which the upper sides 19a on inclined surfaces where bottom sides 19b are inclined downward, become the internal surface of the bearing, on both sides of oil grooves 10 from the internal surface toward the oil groove 10 in a designated pitch P, and the load capacity of the cross head bearing 6 is improved thereby. Because the narrow grooves 19 become the inclined surfaces where the bottom sides 19b are inclined downward, the seizure of the bearing is prevented since a thick oil film is formed by a wedge action of an inclined surface, and temperature rise of the oil is restrained because of improved interchangeability of the oil film.
