PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical pump capable of suppressing the lowering of the seal effect of a mechanical seal. SOLUTION: This mechanical pump comprises a mechanical seal 6 having a rotation side support member 61 rotating integrally with a shaft 2 rotatably supported on a casing 1, an annular rotation side seal member 66 supported by the rotation side support member 61, a fixed side support member 62 fixed to the casing 1, and an annular fixed side seal member 63 supported by the fixed side support member 62 and sealing cooling water at the sliding part between the rotation side seal member 66 and the fixed side seal member 63. In the mechanical pump, the center axis C1 of the fixed side seal member 63 is parallel with the center axis C of the rotation side seal member 66 in non-driving and the center axis C1 of the fixed side seal member 63 is biased in the eccentric direction D of a shaft 2 in driving to the center axis C of the rotation side seal member 66 in non-driving.
