A method for driving a gate of a liquid crystal display device are provided to accelerate a switching process of switching TFTs(Thin Film Transistors) by accelerating a charging/discharging process of a gate line. Plural gate lines are formed on an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. A first signal(1) with a first voltage level is outputted to an m-th gate line during a first period. During a second period after the first signal, a second signal(2) with a second voltage level is outputted to the m-th gate line. The second voltage level is higher than the first voltage level. During a third period after the second signal, a third signal(3) with a third voltage level is outputted to the m-th gate line. The third voltage level is lower than the first voltage level. A fourth signal(4) with a fourth voltage level is applied after the third signal. The fourth voltage level is lower than the first voltage level and higher than the third voltage level.
