PURIFICATION DEVICE AND PHOTOCATALYTIC CARTRIDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic cartridge with an improved photocatalytic performance which traps no suspended particulates in fluid by providing a photocatalytic cartridge keeping the whole surface irradiated with light decomposing hazardous substances in the fluid and which prevents the passage of the fluid, and a purification device.

SOLUTION: In the photocatalytic cartridge, a plurality of materials made by cutting nonwoven fabric in a shape of a disk are detachably disposed in a reaction vessel. The nonwoven fabric is made of silica group composite oxide fiber having a photocatalytic function which consists of an oxide phase (a first phase) mainly comprising a silica component and a metal oxide phase (a second phase) containing Ti and gradually increasing the presence ratio of Ti in a metal oxide composing the second phase toward the surface of the fiber. The purification device uses the above photocatalytic cartridge.
