摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of FFS mode in which the change of color tint of an image dependent on a viewing field angle is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device of fringe field switching (FFS) mode which controls the orientation of a liquid crystal layer by an electric field formed between a pixel electrode and a common electrode, has a cellulose acylate film 14 or 28 satisfying the following relation (I) between a first polarizing film 12 or 30 and a first substrate 16 or 26 arranged on a position nearer to the first polarizing film in the pair of substrates: 0 nm&le;Re&le;10 nm and ¾Rth¾&le;25 nm (I), wherein Re presents the front retardation value (nm) at wavelength 550 nm, and Rth represents the retardation value (nm) in the film thickness direction at wavelength 550 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
