PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent liquid separated from gas from flowing into a secondary pressure gas pipe or a vacuum pressure pipe, in a drain separator. SOLUTION: The drain separator includes: a body 2 having an inlet port 8 and an outlet port 9; a gas-liquid separation section 3 attached to the upper side of the body 2; and an overflow prevention device 4 attached to a lower side of the body 2 and connected to the gas-liquid separation section 3 through communication passages 10. The overflow prevention device 4 has: the liquid storage case 41 into which gas and liquid separated by the gas-liquid separation section 3 flow through the communication passages 10, and which stores the liquid having flown in; and the interruption means 44 provided on a communication member 43 for making the interior of the liquid storage case 41 communicate with the outlet port 9 so as to interrupt the communication of the communication member 43 when the liquid is stored within the liquid storage case 41 to such an extent as to exceed a set level.
