PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for isomerizing a diacetoxyallyl compound by which the isomerization of the diacetoxyallyl compound can be carried out with a less amount of catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for isomerizing the diacetoxyallyl compound includes introducing a 3,4-diacetoxyallyl compound-containing liquid to a distillation column, distilling the liquid in a condition in which the 3,4-diacetoxyallyl compound is contained in the top distillate of the distillation column, extracting the purified 3,4-diacetoxyallyl compound from the bottom product and/or the side stream of the distillation column, and isomerizing the purified 3,4-diacetoxyallyl compound to a 1,4-diacetoxyallyl compound by a catalyst.
