PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction apparatus wherein a decoder for decoding caption image data and menu image display data each of configuration data of which is respectively designated with a DTS and a TS is appropriately constituted and to provide a reproduction method and a reproduction program. SOLUTION: A PES packet is reconfigured from a TS packet on the basis of a PID, and segments being components of a caption and a menu image are reconfigured. The segments are stored in a CDB 110, a corresponding DTS and a corresponding PTS are extracted from a PES header and stored in a buffer 200. The segments are read from the CDB 110 and decoded at the DTS and stored in a DB 112 or a CB 113, and outputted at the PTS. The capacity of the buffer 200 is determined on the basis of an upper limit of the number of the segments storable in the CDB 110. Since the DTS and the PTS are required to be stored until the segments are outputted from the DB 112 or the CB 113 at the PTS, the upper limit number of the segments storable to the CDB 110 is determined on the basis of the number of segments stored in the DB 112 or the CB 113.
