#CMT# #/CMT# The commutator (1) has a commutator core (2) with a centric through hole (10) for receiving a rotor shaft. A commutator shell with multiple shell segments (3a) surrounds the core. The commutator hooks (5) are arranged on a front side of the core. The core has an outer diameter that is tapered on the front side in an axial direction of the commutator and in the shaft. The tapering of the diameter forms a conical surface (2a) such that a plastic insulation compound is slid on the conical surface during sliding of the commutator on the shaft, where the compound is attached to the shaft. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for slide-mounting on a shaft of a rotor of an electric motor. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The tapering of the outer diameter of the core forms the conical surface such that the plastic insulation compound is slid on the conical surface during sliding of the commutator on the shaft, where the compound is attached to the shaft, thus achieving a fixed connection between the commutator and the rotor, and ensuring an increased contact surface between the commutator and a coating. The commutator is designed such that the commutator has a simplified front-sided geometry and production of the commutator is simplified. The connection between the commutator and the coating on an outer side of the comical surface is clearly visible, thus facilitating easy visual checking of the connection. The insulation compound relaxes fit conditions between the through-hole and the shaft, thus reducing breaking of the commutator and damaging of the shaft during sliding. The compound facilitates continuous and reliable isolation between commutator and a rotor package .
