RECEIVING APPARATUS AND RECEIVING METHOD FOR DIGITAL BROADCAST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus for a digital terrestrial broadcast which can prepare a program information table in accordance with each district in the case of distributing the digital terrestrial broadcast by utilizing an IP (Internet Protocol) network.

SOLUTION: The receiving apparatus for receiving digital broadcast distributed by utilizing the IP network includes: a reception means for receiving an IP broadcast stream resulting from applying IP packetizing to the digital broadcast; a channel selection means for selecting channel data corresponding to a desired program channel from the IP broadcast stream; a storage means for storing channel information for selecting the channel data; and a channel setting means that entirely extracts the channel data included in the IP broadcast stream and stores the channel information corresponding to the whole extracted program channels to the storage means.
