<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out image processing (such as pixel interpolation processing) by effectively using a neural network. <P>SOLUTION: A first neural network part 101 has a neural network outputting pixel data (an NN interpolation result) of interpolated pixels with respect to pixel data of peripheral pixels. A bi-cubic interpolation processing part 103 carries out processing by a bi-cubic interpolation method with respect to the pixel data of the peripheral pixels, and it outputs pixel data (a bi-cubic interpolation result) of interpolated pixels. In a second neural network part 102, a neural network is constructed to determine whether or not the first neural network part can output an appropriate interpolation result with respect to the pixel data of the peripheral pixels. A mixture ratio determining part 104 mixes the bi-cubic interpolation result and the NN interpolation result on the basis of a determination result (a sorting result) by the second neural network, and it outputs the mixture as pixel data of interpolated pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
