PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compact a hoistway, an entry/leaving section, a housing section and a movable deck by reducing the turning radii of guide rollers. SOLUTION: A plurality of support rails 45 supporting a pallet P from below are bridged on two rows of endless chains 43 constituting a lifting mechanism 35 of first and second lifts 25, 27. A vertical pair of guide rollers 49, 51 are arranged at both ends of each support rail 45 with a vertical space on a vertical line viewed from the lateral transfer direction of the pallet, and pivoted rotatably around rotating shafts 49a, 51a extending in the lateral transfer direction of the pallet. Two vertically extending guide rails 53 guiding the vertical pairs of guide rollers 49, 51 to roll are disposed at a space in a direction orthogonal to the lateral transfer direction of the pallet to correspond to the outside of two parallel vertical tracks of the respective endless chains 43.
