PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drawing method, drawing device, and computer program capable of easily preparing a high-quality drawing without depending on know-how of a designer with respect to the replacement of a symbol (element graphic). SOLUTION: A drawing processing section 2 retrieves a symbol arranged within a range of a predetermined distance on a screen from the position of the pointer of the mouse indicating the position on the screen of the symbol to be arranged, and determines the existence of the symbol to be replaced based on a retrieval result and replacement definition data 5. When there is the symbol to be replaced, the drawing processing section 2 temporarily registers and displays the symbol to be replaced, and determines whether the pointer moves out of the range of the predetermined distance before replacement determining operation by the designer. When the pointer does not move out of the range of the predetermined distance, the drawing processing section 2 determines the replacement position, and replaces the symbol.
