The system (1) has a handover wheel attached to a handover station (13) and movable around a rotation axis. A handover slot is arranged at an end of a transport rail (2) that is attached to the station. The wheel and the slot are arranged in such a manner that a retaining unit (14) with its retaining opening (18) is provided below the free ends of a hook (10) of a hanger (11), where the retaining unit transversely projects from the wheel in a handover position. A recess is provided for accommodating the unit.
