A guide rail (8) has a plastic element (14), to which is allocated a leaf spring (9), one side of which forms a sliding surface. The guide rail is used for a continuous drive, especially a chain drive in an engine, e.g. for a camshaft. The plastic element is a plastic rail with a guide groove longer than the leaf spring, which takes an arched shape (10).
