PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a woven or knitted fabric that comprises a water-absorbing self elongation yarn and a non-self elongation yarn, partially develops unevenness on the surface of the woven or knitted fabric in water absorption without changing the whole size (area) of woven or knitted fabric, to provide a method for producing the same and to obtain a textile product.

SOLUTION: The woven or knitted fabric comprises a water-absorbing self elongation yarn and a non-self elongation yarn and forms a heat-fusing part and a non-heat-fusing part on the surface of woven or knitted fabric by partially carrying out a heat-fusing treatment on the surface of woven or knitted fabric to make A/B of ≤0.9 when the yarn length of the water-absorbing self elongation yarn in the woven or knitted fabric in an atmosphere at 20°C at a humidity of 65% RH is (A) and the yarn length of the non-self elongation yarn is (B).
